Q: Where does the
money go?
Your donation (s) go to WellPet Humane a nonprofit veterinary
clinic that offers low-cost medical service for indigent animals. WellPet was developed to end "Economic Euthanasia."

How does Celebrate Animals Fundraiser Work?
A:
Celebrate Animals! is a great time to
celebrate the joy that animals bring to our lives. Celebrate Animals! will take place
on the Entertainment
Lawn at Heritage Green 6110 Bluestone Rd Sandy Springs, GA. Walk/Run
with or without your dog, as a team with your friends,
family and co-workers or as an individual. If you are not athletic, just
come and enjoy the festivities for free. We welcome youth participants. All people or pets who attend are
invited to wear Halloween costumes (your favorite animal?) and participate in
the parade of pets in costume to win prizes. Music will be
provided. There will be games for you and your pet, food and refreshments. Our
SuperAdoption will have over 500 animals available for adoption. Also
enjoy the satisfaction of knowing your fundraising effort go to help save an
indigent animal facing a life-threatening medical crisis here in Atlanta. If pets are a big part
of your life, come join us for a day that celebrates our best friends.
Q:
How can participants help raise funds for animals?
Each walker solicits sponsorship from
friends and associates. You can do it in person or use the internet by
developing a FREE personal or team web page.
With an online FREE website you email
friends to spread the word and ask them to participate.
The can sponsor your participation with safe and secure online credit card
donations.
Q:
What will happen the day of the event?
You
can dress in a Halloween costume (for people and pets). Participants
proceed to the registration area, register and donate any funds
raised, receive a Walk bib and T-shirt and get your prizes if you qualify. You can visit exhibitors, enjoy music, food
and refreshments. The blessing of the animals will start at 9:35 followed by a high energy warm-up. Stage shows
and upbeat entertainment will be provided thereafter. Refreshments are available before the
Walk and Run and throughout the course, and volunteers are stationed along the
Walk route to insure that walkers stay on course and will assist if there are
any problems. The City of Sandy Springs Police provide traffic control along the route,
and medical personnel are available for any first-aid needs.

Can children participate?
A:
Definitely! Children and our youth have a special fondness for animals (They
must have permission from a parent or guardian). This is
a family friendly event and attracts walkers and runners from 8 months to 88
years old!

When and where is the walk?
A:
Saturday September 27, 2008
at Heritage Park Sandy Springs, GA (just
outside the perimeter near Roswell Road and Hammond).
Q:
Are donations tax-deductible?
A: Yes.
Sponsors' cancelled checks or credit card statement serve as their receipt for donations under $200.00.
If their donation is above $200.00, we will send you a
receipt form (click here).
Q:
Who organizes the Walk?
A: The
Atlanta Animal Alliance is the host and organizer for this event. We work with many animal organization to help them raise money for
their adoption and medical programs.
Q:
What if I don't want to walk or run?
A: Come and
enjoy the show. There is continuous entertainment on stage. If you can please make a donation of whatever you can afford (as
long as it doesn't rattle).

How far is the Walk?
A:
1 mile walk.

How far is the run?
The run is a 1 mile (The run was shortened this year because of our
location.)

What time does it start?
A: Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. The
walk/run
will start at 10:15 a.m.
Q:
Do I need
a dog to participate?
A:
No! In fact this years walk features a "Memory Wall" so you can walk
in memory of a beloved pet that is no longer with us or you can walk to help
cats.. Walk with or without a
dog.
Q:
How much do I need to collect?
A: We
ask that each participant set a goal of raising a minimum of $200.
Q:
Should I ask my employer to contribute a "Matching Gift"
A:
YES! What better way to help animals than to double your donation. Check with your personnel department to see if your employer has a matching
gifts program. If they do, your team may be able to double your pledges. And,
funds you recruit from a corporation will go toward your individual and team
pledge totals and awards.
Q:
What do I need to know if I am bringing my dog?
Walk
or run with only one dog per person
Use
a 6 foot or shorter leash at all times (please no retractable leashes).
Make
sure your dog has current Rabies vaccinations and wears ID tags.
Bring
plastic bags and clean-up after your dog.
Bring
dog(s) that have completed there shot series, usually 4 to 5 months old. (Don't
bring puppies that could be exposed to disease in which their system is not
ready to combat.)

Can I bring pledges on Walk day?
A.
Yes! Please bring in the pledges by 8:45 am so we may have ample time to process
them.
Q:
What if it rains?
A.
The event will be held rain or shine.
Q:
Will there be a veterinarian at the event?
A.
YES! A veterinarian will be on site in case of emergency.
Q:
Will there be anything to buy at the event?
A.
Yes, bring your money. You can take advantage of vendor discounts and silent
auction prize values. Vendors will be exhibiting a variety of pet-related items, some at a deeply
discounted price. Don’t forget to bring your money.
