Greet, meet and sign-in thousands of walkers and send them on their way. Collect their pledges and show your appreciation. We need smiling faces to help with registration on Walk day and before the Walk for pre-registration. 

Set-up registration area, check-in participants, collect pledge sheets, hand out T-shirts, give out “Goodie Bags” etc.
Welcome Walk Teams to the start lines.

Also Accounting Types:  Volunteers needed who are knowledgeable in bookkeeping methods, can assist in collecting, counting, and computing pledges on event day

Site Set-Up
(day before event)

15 Volunteers Needed

Set up registration, food tables, and hang banners, signs and balloons. Mark route. Work individually or with a friend to mark the route with route signs.  Route marker, cord, scissors and staple gun provided.

Road Marshals

Help walkers get through the intersections safely

Photographers

Photographers are needed for taking team photos.

Medical

3 Volunteers Needed

Use your Red Cross training! Assist tired or injured walkers. Must be first-aid certified. Volunteers who are doctors, nurses, volunteer fire department personnel or Red Cross members.  Setting up, checking supplies, treating minor injuries, reporting serious injuries. Evaluate injuries and treatment as needed.  Fill out incident report provided.

Route Monitors

4 Volunteers Needed

Monitor the Walk Route , helping tired or injured walkers.

Clean- Up Crew 

20 Volunteers Needed

At the end of the day help teardown and clean up. Make a quick sweep of the Walk route to make sure signs and garbage are picked up, especially any dog waste.

Parking Assistance

3 Volunteers Needed

Assist with giving directions on where walkers can park.

Start/Finish Line: 

10 Volunteers Needed

Volunteers who like to send off participants at the start and greet at the finish line.  Monitor table and assist with giving Medallions to everyone that cross the finish line along with communicating supportive remarks.  You can make an event end a “Fresh Welcome” to the weary participants

Road Runners

For volunteers who like to be on the move…this is perfect for you.  Drive, walk or run to various places to assist in crisis situations and help in translating messages from one location to another.  Duties may include:  Picking up extra ice, sending a message to a rest-stop or reporting to and from staff members.
